Trane stopped making Trane XR11 in 2006 with the change to higher SEER. XR11 is probably really 10 SEER though might be closer to 11. Unless a very expensive TXC-S coil is purchased and a hard start kit put on the outdoor unit, it can be 13 SEER for AC and 9.5 HSPF for heating.
Trane XR11 is the replacement for the Trane XE1000 with similar mechanically. It has a longer compressor and coil warranty than the XE models or XB models. The XR11 is also a little bit quieter than the XE/XB lines, but not much. It uses ClimaTuff compressor which produces less noise and efficient in operation.
Trane XR11 heat pump used R22 refrigerant. The materials comes with corrosion resistant weatherguard fasteners and the louvered panels is coated with powder paint in full side. The unit is protected with DuraTuff rust-proof basepan to avoid corrosion.

Consumer reviews concerning the Trane XR11 in many HVAC forums mention a faulty compressors. Some outstanding issues stated that their compressors were under warranty. Other issues like capacitors problem, which is simple to fix and cheap in replacements.
